Obituary for Burton S. Mosher

Burton S. Mosher, of Concord, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 91.

Born in Concord on May 7, 1927, he was raised by parents, the late Martin and Margaret (Chambers) Mosher, and five older siblings. During his childhood years in Holliston, Massachusetts, he enjoyed trapping, being a Boy Scout, and driving farm produce and milk delivery trucks. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Force occupation of Germany. On graduation from Northeastern University, Burt served for 35 years as Trust Officer for The Boston Company.

He was a proud Concord resident for sixty years. A man who held a passion for adventure, Burt enjoyed camping, skiing, mountain climbing, fishing on Martha’s Vineyard and travel. He lived to golf. His extended family will remember his “open door” hospitality and his self-taught skills in the kitchen.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jane (Richards) Mosher, three children, David Mosher and his wife Jacqueline of Raleigh, NC, John Mosher and his wife Michele of Boxborough, and Virginia Raposo and her husband Victor of Pepperell, his grandchildren, Sarah and Laura Bilodeau, Isabella Raposo, and Ryley Mosher, and two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Alexander Williamson. Burt was the father of the late Melissa Bilodeau of Cummington and her husband, the late Kenneth Bilodeau.

Burial services at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord are private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle, 34 Walden St. Unit 217, Concord, MA 01742.

Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
