William F. Gower, 86, a longtime Concord resident, died on Monday, October 1, 2018. He was the devoted husband for 58 years of Claire C. (Berube) Gower. He was born in Concord on December 27, 1931 as the son of the late Francis and Mary (Mansfield) Gower. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind three sons, Michael Gower of Portland, OR, John Gower and his wife Linda of Acton, and Scott Gower of Maynard. He is also survived by Margaret Clemens of NY and Glenn Berube of HI, who he helped raise, as well as 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Mary Johnson, Patricia Gilpatrick, and Joan Sullivan. Family and friends will gather for visiting hours on Thursday, October 4th from 9 to 11 am in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center, followed by burial with military honors at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Concord's Town Flag will fly at half-staff on Thursday, October 4th in recognition of Mr. Gower's honorable service to his country in the United States Air Force.
