Obituary

William F. Erisman, 67, of Gardner and a former longtime Concord resident, died peacefully, following a long illness, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Veterans Medical Center in West Roxbury. He was the husband of Linda (Moffett) MacMillan for 14 years. Bill was born in Concord on March 8, 1951 as the son of the late William and Hope (Nichols) Erisman. After graduating from Concord Carlisle High School in 1969, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge from the service in 1971, he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Bill worked for the Town of Concord prior to employment with Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard. For several years, he resided in New Ipswich, NH. Bill had a profound love for his family, friends, and animals. He especially enjoyed walking his dogs around town. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his daughter, Sarah Erisman and husband Douglas Belmonte of Maynard, one grandson, Jacob Belmonte of Maynard, two sisters, Lee Grieme and her husband Wayne of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Mary Clover and her husband Walter of Concord, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was also the brother of the late Bonnie Palmisano. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours on Saturday, December 29th from 12 to 3 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Burial with military honors will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Concord's Town Flag will fly at half-staff on Saturday, December 29th in recognition of Bill's honorable service to his country during the Vietnam War. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made for the benefit of animals through the MSPCA (www.mspca.org). Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
