William E. Carroll, 87, of Longmeadow, formerly of Westford and Brighton, died at Holyoke Medical Center on August 11, 2023, following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Brenda (Hosey) Carroll, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in September.

Born in Cambridge on February 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Eugene and Katherine (Weston) Carroll.

After serving in the Army and graduating from Boston University, Bill worked for many years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. His next professional venture led him to form Alpha Security Products, a bank security company that he owned and operated for 17 years. Both his employees and customers held him in high regard.

Bill will be remembered as a family man who loved boating in Mystic, Connecticut and traveling with Brenda.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two sons, Stephen W. Carroll and his wife Janine of Agawam and Mark W. Carroll of Gloucester, three grandchildren, Travis S. Carroll, Jared A. Carroll and his wife Hiroko and Troy Carroll, along with his faithful canine companion, Scooter. He was predeceased by three cousins with whom he was very close: Helen Chase, Dan Calileo and Robert Calileo.

Family and friends will gather for Bill's Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 24th at 11 am in St. Bernard's Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.
