Walter E. Pianka, a longtime resident of Lincoln, died on February 1, 2026, after a short illness. He was 89.

He was the husband of the late Ann C. (Ritchie) Pianka, who died in 2017.

He is survived by his children, Walter and his wife Linda, Marcy and her husband Dave, Jamie and his wife Renee and Ann Marie, along with his grandchildren, Danielle, Christopher, Thomas and Lucas, and five great grandchildren: Grayson, Cole, Leona, Kai and August. He was the father of the late Mark Pianka, and brother to the late Teresa Honyotski and Sr. Lorraine Pianka.

Private funeral services were held in the Dee Funeral Home of Concord on February 5, 2026. Burial followed at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will plan a celebration of life in the coming months.
