W. Bradley Ryan, 84, of Concord formerly of Belmont died Wed. Nov. 9, 2011 in Concord. He was the beloved husband of Carol Ann (Burke) Sheehan Ryan. Born in Arlington on September 16, 1927 he was the son of the late George S. and Mary Bradley (Kavanaugh) Ryan. He attended Belmont schools and was a graduate of Belmont High School. Mr. Ryan served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Korea in 1946. Following his military service, he received his AB from Harvard University in 1959 and his JD from Boston College Law School in 1953. He became a member of the Bar Association in 1953. For several years, he practiced law with his father in their law firm Ryan and Ryan in Boston. He continued with the firm following his father\'s death in 1961. In 1970, Mr. Ryan began his practice as an attorney with the law firm of Rubin and Rudman. He eventually became a partner in the firm, where he specialized in litigation law for over 42 years. He was a member of the American Arbitration Association. A Concord resident since 1984, he served as a Lector at the former Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in West Concord and later at Holy Family Parish in Concord. He also was a Past President of the Billerica Chess Club. In addition to his wife Carol Ann, survivors include a son Bradley S. Ryan of Billerica, a daughter Kathryn Howard of Newton, three step-sons, John F. Sheehan of Cambridge, Brendan B. Sheehan of Boston and Andrew H. Sheehan of Marshfield, eight grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his former wife Kathryn Ryan. He was also the father of the late Thomas G. Ryan and brother of the late George S. Ryan Jr. Funeral will be held Monday November 14th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10 am. Interment with military honors will follow in the family burial plot in Belmont Cemetery. Concord's town flag will fly at half staff on Monday in recognition of Mr. Ryan's service to his country in the United States Army during WWII.
