Virginia D. (Sims) Zarr, 86, died after a long illness on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton, MA.
Born in Concord, MA on October 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Raymond and Josephine (Moreau) Sims of Concord, and was predeceased by her brother Raymond.
In 1966 she married William Zarr of Worcester, MA. Virginia loved caring for children and spent much of her adult life working in the Thoreau Club Nursery and raising her two daughters, Ramey and Lori.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, William Zarr of Concord and their two daughters, Ramey of Acton and Lori and her husband Sean Fannin and daughter Lily of Petaluma, CA. Other survivors include her cousins Robert Dempsey of Winchester, Roberta Dunn of Concord, Richard T. Hayes and his wife Mary of Concord and their three children, Marylou Hayes-Dagostino, Carole Ann Raikunen and Donna Hayes-Murphy. A very special survivor and long-time family friend is Leslie Johnson of Acton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 26, 2015 from 12 Noon to 2 pm at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center followed by a funeral mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 2 pm.
Interment will follow in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Minuteman ARC, 1269 Main Street, Concord, MA.
