Jini Vockel, age 73, of Boxborough, died peacefully after a long illness, on February 25, 2016, at her home with loved ones in attendance.
She was the daughter of the late Paul T. Vockel and Ursula (Culbert) Vockel.
A resident of Boxborough for many years, she is survived by her spouse Andrea Cardarelli and is remembered with much love by the many friends she made throughout her life.
Jini was active in the community by volunteering at the Town Hall, the Council on Aging, and serving on various Personnel Boards. She is a graduate of Stephens College in MO ('61), Randolph-Macon Women's College in VA ('63), and Miami University in OH ('65).
She was passionate about her volunteer work at the South Middlesex Correctional Center in Framingham, and had volunteered at several prisons in Massachusetts during the past 30 years.
She was an active member of the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross. She supported many charities, enjoyed photography and history, as well as riding her motorcycle around the suburbs of Boston.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at 2 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street, Concord, MA.
Interment will be private.
