Virginia C. (Palmer) Driscoll, "Ginny" 87, a lifelong Concord resident, died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Driscoll who died in 2005.
Born in Concord on April 2, 1928 she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (MacLeod) Palmer. She attended Concord public schools, graduated in 1946 from Concord High School and later earned a Dental Assistant degree from the Boston School of Dentistry.
Ginny's early focus was on raising her family. She worked briefly as a Dental Assistant and then for many years as a Sales Associate at Carter Furniture Company. In later years, she was a homemaker to Concord families.
In her 50's, she became a passionate walker and could often be seen "walking and talking" with friends near her home in Concord. She enjoyed antiquing, dinners out, and sharing time with family at home. She was a talented cook and made family celebrations special with her unrivaled chocolate cake.
Survivors include her four children, Dayle A. Fenton and her husband George of Nashua, NH, Robert G. Driscoll, Jr. and his wife Catherine of East Greenwich, RI, Mark P. Driscoll of Ayer and Mary V. Daniels of Florida. She was the loving grandmother of Lisa, Tara, Kate, Carrie, Kelly, Sean, Casey, Logan and Jake and loving great grandmother of Brooke, Gavin and Sofia. She was the dear older sister of Joyce Palmer of Corona del Mar, CA, Shirley Palmer of Concord and Richard Palmer of Concord. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be held on Sunday, August 16th from 2 to 6 pm.
