Virginia A. "Jinny" (Olsen) Corrigan, 96, of Concord, MA, formerly of Acton MA, Cape Cod, and Ft. Myers FL, died peacefully on Wednesday October 28, 2026, with her family at her side.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Joe Corrigan, her parents Clarence and Agnes Olsen, and her sister, Carolyn Robinson. She is survived by her beloved brother, Kenneth Olsen (Carol) of Concord. She was the mother of Steven P. Corrigan (Rosemarie) of Kenwood, CA, Lynn A. Viscariello (Tom) of Maynard, Scott M. Corrigan (Sallie) of Brewster, and Lisa M. Bannon (Alan Danehy) of Hudson. She always enjoyed family gatherings and visits from her 5 grandsons (Joe, Dan, Brian, Patrick, & Sean), 3 granddaughters (Kelly, Kendra, & Kimmy), her 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a die-hard Boston sports fan, especially the Patriots and the beloved Red Sox, as she and Joe enjoyed attending spring training games in Ft. Myers. Jinny was always busy, raising 4 children, taking care of her live-in mother-in-law, working at the family liquor store, and meticulously managing finances. All this while working for many years and wearing many hats as a Secretary for the Town of Acton school system. She always cared deeply for the hundreds of children that attended the Merriam and Douglas schools during those years. Whether they forgot their lunch, didn’t feel well, or were just having a bad day, Jinny knew how to make things better. Love you, Mom!!!!
Relatives and friends will gather for Jinny’s memorial service at the Duvall Chapel at Newbury Court, 80 Deaconess Road, Concord, MA on Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception with light refreshments. Private interment will be held on Monday, November 16th at Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln, MA.
In lieu of flowers, Jinny’s wish would be to pay forward an act of kindness, compassion, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin with a loved one as she so often did. Jinny was fortunate and appreciative of the support of all the staff at Newbury Court, especially Linda, Sandy, Moses, Haun, Joyce, Julianna and Christiana of the care staff, Marise & Marice in housekeeping, and Chris in Dining Services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
