Victoria Lynn Banta passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2025 in Bedford, Massachusetts. She was 69 years old.

She is survived and is loved by her mother, Maria Del Rosso Banta and step father, Dr. Alexander Van de Velde, by her sister Martha Dericks, her husband Bob and their daughter Leigh Ogonowski, and by her brother, Charlie Banta and his wife Venus, and their children Eddie and Lola. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Banta.

Vicki will be remembered as a woman with a vibrant personality, a lovely smile, and her natural ability to connect with everyone she met. She was a creative and talented student, graduating from Bloomfield College after first enlisting in the U.S. Army as a helicopter maintenance technician. We are profoundly grateful for the care she received over the years from the U.S. Veterans Administration. We will miss her dearly.

A private ceremony for family will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Upper Montclair, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations in her memory be made to: The VA Bedford Healthcare System ; in memo please include IMO Banta/DOM Women or to Mercy Ships International .
