Veronica Ann "Ronnie" Deck, 91, of Concord MA, formerly of West Hartford, CT, passed away gracefully on March 2, 2014 in her home. Ronnie was the loving and beloved wife of the late Raymond H. Deck and the eternally devoted mother of six children, seventeen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren – her life's great mission. Ronnie was always beautiful, elegant, spiritual and loving. Throughout her long life she demonstrated to all who knew and loved her the deep lessons of devotion, faith, caring, and how to find the miraculous in everyday life. She had an unfathomable capacity for love and right up the end was able to set aside a special place in her heart for every new friend and caregiver. Ronnie was a world traveler; a patron of the arts, an avid reader, a superb cook and the consummate hostess. She tirelessly supported her husband Ray in his work in Hartford's insurance industry and his ministry in the Roman Catholic Church, and various Hartford community charitable and educational institutions. Ronnie leaves her children; Barbara Deck of Newton MA, Priscilla Deck of Beverly MA – widow of Ray Jr., – Michael Deck and his wife Jane Deck of Nanaimo BC, Mark Deck and his wife Tricia Deck of Lincoln MA, and Mimi Deck Rutledge and her husband Tom Rutledge of Concord MA. Her son, Kevin Francis Deck of West Hartford CT, also predeceased her. She leaves seventeen grandchildren and their families: Abed Balbaky of New York, Noor Balbaky of Newton MA, Raymond H. Deck, III and his wife Jessica Bowen Deck of Cambridge MA, Tina Deck Yarrington and her husband Jason Yarrington of Salem MA, Charles Deck and his wife Nadja of San Francisco CA, Gina Deck of Cambridge MA, Laura Deck of Beacon Hill, MA, Teresa and Jeremy Keeling of Flesherton ON, Miriam and Sean Wilton of Vancouver BC, Rosemary Deck of Eureka CA; Wilbur Deck and wife Rebecca Kreger Deck of Denver CO, Eliza Deck of New York, Heidi Deck of Denver, CO, Michela Deck of Charlestown MA, Christopher, Daniel and Kevin Rutledge of Concord MA. Ronnie is also the great-grandmother of Tina's Lola and Liam; Teresa's Willow and Archer; Wilbur's Pearl; Miriam's Zoe; and Ray III's Josiah and Raymond. Cemetery: There will be a private burial in West Hartford afterwards. Service: A funeral Mass will be held for family and friends at the Holy Family Church in Concord Massachusetts on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 10 am followed by a reception there.
