Timothy J. Moynihan, 66, of Bedford, MA, passed on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington while surrounded by his loved ones after a period of declining health.
He was born in Concord, MA on September 6, 1955, as the son of the late Paul and Rita Moynihan. He attended public schools in Lincoln and graduated from Newton Technical High School. He spent his professional life working in the fire and life-safety industry, progressing from Technician to Northeast Service Manager. He was especially proud when, as a Project Manger, he got to go behind The Green Wall at Fenway Park. A fan of all major New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox, he was most happy sharing stories of catching for his beloved Lincoln softball team.
A consummate putterer, Tim loved being in the backyard with his dogs and one power tool or another. Four o'clock would find him on the deck with a drink and cigarette, chilling with the birds. His "bible" was the The Art of Happiness by the Dali Lama. A contentious Irishman to the core, he hated vanity plates, Subaru drivers and losing at darts to Dana. Caught in the middle of a busy, raucous family he is best remembered for removing his teenaged daughter's door when she slammed it one too many times. He loved Pink Floyd, The Big Lebowski, and every dog he ever met and he especially loved sharing a glass of great whiskey with his friends.
Tim is survived by his wife Lois Thoms, children, Dana Thoms, his wife Kelly and a grandson Ian of Andover, Jason Thoms and his wife Kelly of Weare, NH, and daughter Joanna Prentice, her husband Chris, granddaughter, Lilyana, and grandson, Jayce, of Nashua NH. He is also survived by a sister in law, Mary Ellen Moynihan of Hudson, two nephews, Jeffrey Moynihan and Michael Moynihan, and two nieces, Jennifer Moynihan and Catherine Janda. He was also the brother to the late Mark Moynihan and Paul Moynihan, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Tim's life during visiting hours on Sunday, May 22nd from 3 to 5 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Private burial will be held the following day at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.
