Tom Moran, of Concord, dedicated husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, died peacefully at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln on April 29, 2021, following a long brave battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Watertown on October 7, 1951 he was the son of the late James and Evelyn (Connors) Moran. He attended Watertown Public Schools, before earning a Bachelor's Degree from Bentley University in Waltham.
Tom was a man of compassion, integrity, resilience, and optimism. He was a kind and gentle soul, who had a knack for giving great advice, at just the right time.
Tom had a storied 35 year career at the Polaroid Corporation. Forever living by the Henry Ford quote, "If you think you can or you think you can't, either way you're right," Tom worked his way from an entry-level warehouse position, to Financial Analyst, to Marketing Manager, to winning Salesman of the Year honors for the 15,000 person organization.
In his late 40s, Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and he never let it get in the way of living life. After his retirement from Polaroid, he started a successful dessert and snack business, consulted for multiple start-up companies, and ran four miles a day, well into his 60s. He refused to let Parkinson's define him.
Tom will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved music, live sporting events, coaching little league, and exercising. Throughout his life, Tom had a joy for training and spending time with his family dogs, and loved time with his wife, and family.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 43 years, Vanessa (Patalano) Moran, four children, Jesse Moran and his wife Caroline of Concord, Lindsay Demerjian and her husband Kevin of Acton, Bradford Moran of Maynard and Jennifer Moran of Maynard, four grandchildren, Ella, Bryce, Lucas and Noah, and his beloved dog Heidi, all of whom he adored. Tom is also survived by two brothers, James and Robert Moran.
Tom's family gathered for a private Funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish in Concord Center. Burial followed at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
