Sylvia Haughey McCann, 95 of Sherborn, formerly of Lincoln and Wellesley died Sunday March 25, 2012 in Framingham. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. John B. McCann and the late William J. Haughey. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 19, 1916 she was the daughter of the late William C. and Edna May (Bell) Stock. She attended Cincinnati public schools and was a graduate of Hughes High School in Cincinnati. She later attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In 1941, she became a resident of Swampscott, moved to Wellesley in 1952 and became a resident of Lincoln in 1969. She enjoyed golfing for many years at the Woodland Country Club in Auburndale. She also enjoyed gardening and painting. Mrs. McCann was a former communicant and active member of St. James Church in Wellesley and later at St. Joseph's Church in Lincoln where she sang in the Church Choir. She was also a volunteer for many years in the Gift Shop at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the mother of Patricia Gray and her husband Bruce of Sherborn, Susan Taylor ,formerly of Holliston and her husband the late Peter Taylor, and Michael Haughey and his wife Jan of Canton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held Sat. March 31st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER at 8:45 am followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Lincoln at 10 am. Interment will follow in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be on Friday March 30th from 4 to 8 pm.
