Sylvia O. Cuevas, of Concord, MA, formerly of Columbus, Ohio died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Kindred Health and Rehabilitation, Walden in Concord, MA. Born in Puerto Montt, Chile on November 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Bernardo and Ines Osnovikoff. In 1980, she came to the United States and settled in Columbus, Ohio. After completing her education in Chile, Sylvia spent much of her time working with underserved and in-need communities, most recently helping individuals with HIV/AIDS and promoting HIV prevention. She was a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio before moving to Concord, MA in 2005. During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Carlos A. Cuevas, his wife Joana Amaral-Cuevas and their son Carter Cuevas of Canton, MA, as well as her sister Rosi Peterson of Curico, Chile and her brother Sergio Osnovikoff of Ecuador. Service: A memorial service in Columbus, Ohio will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 10 AM in the Newman Center, 64 W. Lane Avenue Columbus, Ohio.
