Sven Harold Goranson, 65, of Somerville, formerly of Concord died Monday September 5, 2011 at his Somerville home, following a lengthly illness. Born in Concord on July 28, 1946 he was the beloved son of the late Sven Harold and Emily Judith (Engebretson) Goranson. He attended Concord schools and was a 1964 graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School. As a senior at Concord-Carlisle, he was a member of the Tech tourney Class B championship basketball team. Mr. Goranson was a retired Technician at Raytheon Corp. in Waltham and previously had been employed as a stock broker for Merrill. Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith. He enjoyed reading and long walks. Survivors include his brothers, David A. of Concord, Douglas E. of Groton and Richard K. of Pepperell and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 17th at 2 pm in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Interment will follow in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, P. O.
