Suzanne (Wearly) Jones, 71, of Chelmsford, MA, passed away on August 10, 2018 due to a brain aneurism.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend of 45 years, Thomas Allen Jones. She is survived by her brother Gregory and his wife Nancy of Watertown, MA; her daughter Nicole (Jones) Pinard and her husband Adam of Carlisle, MA and their children Madeleine and Austin; her step-daughter Deborah (Jones) Hyson and her husband, John of Cold Spring, KY; her step-son Michael Jones and his wife Terri, of Novi, Michigan, along with many loving cousins, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
Suzanne was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on December 28, 1946 to Wilbur Dale and Martha Mae Wearly. When she was 9 years old, she got her wish of having a baby brother when her family adopted two-day-old Gregory Wearly. They lived on a farm where Suzanne's love of animals was born. She told stories of dogs, cats, rabbits, ponies, pigs, and cows that she nurtured, adopted as her own, and dressed up like dolls. She also loved to sing and joined the church choir at an early age. After graduating from New Madison High School, she studied voice at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
While attending college, she applied for a part-time job as a switchboard operator at WKRC-TV. There, she met anchorman Tom Jones and, on a dare, agreed to go on a date. They were married three months later.
Suzanne worked in the health care industry over the years taking care of both animals and people. She and Tom enjoyed traveling and lived in many states including Massachusetts, Georgia, California, and Arizona. Her hobbies were knitting and cooking. She could make a masterpiece out of a few skeins of yarn. She loved watching cooking shows and collecting cookbooks. Her lobster thermidor was legendary. Suzanne also loved to shop and was always fashionably dressed in more bling than most.
