Susan A. Martin, of Concord, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at her Concord home. Born in New York City in 1945, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Margaret (Alexander) Martin. Raised at Ormsby Hill in Manchester, Vermont, she attended schools there and in 1963 graduated from Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester. She received a Bachelor in Social Work degree in 1967 and later a Masters in Social Work degree from the Boston University School of Social Work. For many years, Susan's career path in social work was focused on child welfare. She also worked as a Legislative Aide at the State House in Boston. A longtime resident of Concord, she was an avid gardener, enjoyed the arts, and loved her dogs. Susan was a wonderful gourmet cook and ultimate foodie, who loved to travel, meet new people and make new friends. Survivors include her cousin, John Alexander and his wife, Marsha of Maryland. She will be greatly missed by her long time friends of many years and will be remembered for her wonderful laugh. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
