Stephen J. Galgay, 71, of Concord, the husband of 43 years to Maureen (Molloy) Galgay, passed away on February 10, 2021.
Originally from Cambridge, he served in the United States Marine Corps, before moving to Concord, Massachusetts in 1977. A gentleman who would always help others and believed in the value of hard work, he worked for years as a Registered Nurse, and was a longtime member of the Concord Elks and Maynard Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers Michael, William, and Martin, and his sister, Mary. He was the proud father of Clancy and his wife Amanda of Hingham, Conor of Maynard, Patrick of Stow, Erin of Brooklyn, and Shannon of Dorchester. He was the adoring Grandpa and provider of unlimited candy to Evelyn, Rory, and Finn of Hingham.
Due to the current pandemic, a private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in Concord Center, followed by burial with military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Concord's Town Flag will fly at half-staff on Friday, February 19th in honor of his faithful military service to our country.
