Shirley (Baker) Leavitt, 81, a lifelong Concord resident died Saturday May 21, 2016 in Concord. She was the beloved wife of 35 years of Jonathan M. Leavitt. Born in Concord on June 2, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Jesse F. and Gertrude M. (Lawrence) Baker. She attended Concord schools and was a 1951 graduate of Concord High School. She retired in the 1980's as a Rater with Sentry Insurance Company in Concord, formerly Middlesex Insurance Company, after over 30 years of employment. She was a long time member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord and also of the Order of Eastern Star, Magdalene Chapter in Maynard. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a sister Marion Wilson of Cotuit, and many nieces and nephews including Sandra Blake of Bedford, Sharon Findlay of Windham, NH and David Darling of Concord. She was also the sister of the late Ruth Wilkins, Fay Emerson, Betty Gray and Eleanor Darling. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 31st at 11 am at the family burial plot in Linwood Cemetery, Route 20, Weston. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Brown, Associate Minister of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord.
