Sheldon William Kaplan, 85, formerly of Concord, Mass., Somerville, Mass. and The Bronx, New York died Sunday July 21, 2013 in Medford. Born in New York City on August 30, 1927 he was the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Silverman) Kaplan. He attended New York City Public Schools. Mr. Kaplan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. For many years he worked in the manufacturing industry in the New York/New Jersey area. He was a prolific reader and avid sports follower. He also enjoyed watching movies from older era's and listening to Country Western Music. Survivors include his brother Elwood S. Kaplan and his wife Roberta of Pembroke Pines, Florida; two nieces, Lonnie Laporte-Beer of Shrewsbury and Dari L. Dee of Concord, a nephew Seth Kaplan of Dallas , Texas, 4 grand nephews and one grand niece. Cemetery: Interment with military honors was held on Friday July 26, 2013 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.
