Sheila (Carey) Harding of Lincoln, Massachusetts died on December 9th after a valiant battle with cancer. In the final days she was surrounded by her family and many friends and went in peace. Sheila was born in 1937 in Yonkers, New York and moved to Lincoln in 1975.
Sheila was an active member of the Lincoln community. She sold real estate, initially under the tutelage of Mr. Bob Pearmain. In 1984, she opened and was owner of Group West Limited Realty and ran the business for many years. She was recognized many times for outstanding salesmanship. Eventually Group West was bought out by RE/MAX realty where she remained on as their lead sales person until moving to Barrett Realty and most recently Barrett Sotheby's International Realty. Sheila was committed and passionate about the real estate business and many Lincoln and other Boston suburb residents benefited from that passion. Sheila remained active in service organizations such as the National Council for Aging and was a member of the Lincoln Republican Town Committee.
Surpassing her passion for real estate was her passion for her family. She was a wonderful sister, aunt, mother and grandmother to a robust extended family. She is survived by her brother, Walter Carey of Vail, Colorado. She also survived by her son Colonel (Retired) John Douglas Harding Jr. of Leavenworth Kansas, her daughters Megan Anne Harding of Milford New Hampshire and Kara Anne Harding of Phoenix Arizona and her son Joseph (Jay) John Harding of Maynard Massachusetts.
