Obituary

Seth Emmer, 81, of Delray Beach, Florida and Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on June 28, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Ridgefield, New Jersey, Seth was the son of Abe and Bea Emmer. He pursued his education with the same drive that would define his career, earning his undergraduate degree at Rutgers University, an MBA at Pace University, and his law degree at Boston College.

Seth went on to become a partner at Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, where he built a distinguished career in community association law. A Fellow of the College of Community Association Lawyers, he was a true pioneer in the field, helping to shape and develop the law governing community condominium associations on a national level. His expertise and leadership left a lasting mark on the profession.

Beyond his accomplishments at work, Seth knew how to savor life. He was a passionate traveler with a deep love for Italy, an avid reader, and an enthusiastic competitor on the pickleball court and in the water volleyball pool. He took genuine joy in good wine and a fine meal out. He cherished his friends, and those who knew him best remember his quiet, understated generosity — he gave freely and often, never seeking recognition for it.

Seth was the loving husband of Sheryl Segal for 38 years. He was the devoted brother of Neal Emmer and a beloved uncle to Sawyer Emmer, Molly Boynton, and Jacob Segal. He was also a cherished great-uncle to Winnie, Dot, and Bea, and a wonderful brother-in-law to Wendy and David Segal.

He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Shiva services will be held on Thursday, July 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at 6 Stearns Road, Bedford, Massachusetts, 01730.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah (bestfriends.org) will be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
