Obituary

Satish Chandra Dhingra, 79, of Concord, Massachusetts passed away November 13, 2017. He was born in Lahore, India, before partition, and was the son of Lall Chand Dhingra and Lila Bajaj Dhingra. He graduated as Master of Architecture from M.I.T. and designed many projects throughout New England. When working for Desmond & Lord, Mr. Dhingra designed and managed the project building of the new International Terminal E at Logan Airport. After establishing his own firm, he won architectural contracts from Massport, New England Telephone, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Bank of Boston and many other clients. One of his most interesting projects was working with Buckminster Fuller on the design of three airports in India. Mr. Dhingra was a member of both the American Institute of Architects and the Boston Society of Architects, where he taught a design studio. For several years he donated his time to the annual convention of TiE East. Locally, Mr. Dhingra assisted the Town of Concord on committees for the Concord Libraries, as well as the Historical Districts Commission. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Frances Moran Dhingra, with whom he celebrated 31 years of marriage, his daughter, Meera Elizabeth Dhingra, both of Concord, as well as his first wife, Vibha Nagrath Dhingra and their sons, Anand Mohan Dhingra and his wife Holly Parker of Nashua, New Hampshire; Vivek Anand Dhingra and Catherine Bingham and grandsons Nikhil and Rhys, all of Wakefield; His sister Sushma Jaggi and her husband Yash Bir Jaggi of New Delhi, India and their children, beloved nephew Gautam Jaggi, of Brookline and adored niece Lavanya Jaggi, her husband Manjul Ramchandani and their son Taran, all of New York City; his sister Sarita Dhingra Kohli and her husband Kumaresh and their brilliant children Kapil and Karun and their families, all of Germany. Mr. Dhingra also has left many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and scores of friends throughout the world who universally said they will miss his optimism and truly silly jokes and marvelously bad puns. Smiles are his legacy. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours on Wednesday, November 29th from 4 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
