Sally Terrell Scott, 80, of Lexington, died Friday, October 21, 2011 at her Lexington home. She was the wife of the late Robert Clark Scott, Jr. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia on May 14, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Fred A. and Sallie (Carter) Terrell. She attended Lynchburg public schools and graduated from E. G. Glass High School in 1948. In 1952, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Randolph-Macon Women's College in Virginia. An artist, Sally was known and admired for her whimsical painted animals on beach stones. A resident of Lexington since 1965, she previously lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York City. She was a member of the Lexington Historical Society and the Morning Study Group, a sub group of the Lexington Field and Garden Club, where she most recently served as Chair of the Hancock-Clarke Herb Garden. Survivors include two sons, J. Terrell Scott of St. Johnsbury, Vermont and R. Carter Scott and his wife Kirsten of Townsend, Massachusetts, her grandchildren, Amber A. Jastrab, Shanti A. Scott, Caleb B. Scott and their mother Priscilla G. Allen-Scott, all of Pepperell and grandson, Gabriel M. Scott of Townsend, two great-grandchildren, Madison L. Jastrab and Tyler J. Jastrab, both of Pepperell, her sister, Katherine T. Reedy of Atlanta, Georgia, her brother, Frederick A. Terrell of Lynchburg, Virginia, and her sister-in-laws Carolyn C. Terrell and Anna D. Scott, both of Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the sister of the late Prescott C. Terrell.

Burial will be in Presbyterian Cemetery, Lynchburg, Virginia.
Service:
A candlelight memorial service will be held at the Follen Church, 755 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington on Tuesday, November 1st at 5:30 PM. A reception with light refreshments will follow.
