Ryan Michael Murphy, age 25, of Hamden, CT, formerly of Littleton, MA, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from injuries sustained during a work related accident while servicing a disabled truck on route I-91 in Connecticut.
Born in Boston on January 18, 1985 he was the beloved son of Donna Hayes-Murphy and Robert J. Murphy and devoted brother to Breanna Murphy of Littleton.
He attended Littleton public schools and graduated in 2003 from Nashoba Valley Technical High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He was dual enrolled during high school at Middlesex Community College in Bedford. Later he pursued a career in the automotive field. A mechanical wizard, he could fix anything. As a young child he used his talent to repair his friends bicycles and skateboards.
An incredible athlete, he played soccer, basketball, Frisbee golf and was a snowboard instructor. An avid nature enthusiast, he enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and kayaking and camping. A talented musician, he played the bass guitar and created his own music on his computer.
He had a wonderful and unique sense of humor and always loved to make to make people laugh because he never wanted anyone to be sad.
In addition to his parents and sister, survivors include his grandparents, Richard and Mary Hayes of Concord and Robert and Virginia Murphy of Ridgway, PA, his aunts and uncles; MaryLou and Fran Dagostino of Littleton, Carole and Wayne Raikunen of Pepperell, Patrick and Patricia Murphy of West Mifflin, PA, Colleen and Ray Hansen of Sigel, PA, several cousins and many, many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 11th from 4 to 8 PM in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
A memorial celebration of Ryans life was be held on Saturday, June 12th at his familys home.
