Ruth (Davies) Williams, 98, a former longtime Lincoln resident, died peacefully at Billerica Crossings on February 10, 2021. She was the wife for 67 years of the late Edwin L. Williams who died in 2011.
Ruth was born in Wolverhampton, England on April 30, 1922 to her late parents, A. Harry and Nellie (Worton) Davies.
As a young child, her family moved to Royal Oak, Michigan, where she grew up and worked for her mother's family owned business, Nellie Davis Pharmacy. She later pursued pharmaceutical studies at Wayne State University in Michigan.
In 1943, she married Edwin, the love of her life, at Harvard Chapel in Cambridge. They settled in Lincoln in 1948, where Ruth utilized her photography talents for local real estate agencies, as well as numerous historical and yoga books. Ruth enjoyed teaching yoga in Lincoln and neighboring towns for over 20 years. She was a member of the Lincoln Garden Club and First Parish in Lincoln. She also took immense pride in supporting her husband's jazz recording business.
She leaves behind her sons, Thomas E. Williams and his wife Pamela of Atlanta, MI and Eric A. Williams and his wife Ann of Marlborough, a daughter-in-law, Rose Williams of Hoyt, KS, 7 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late David and John Paul Williams.
