Russell Durand Lang, 58, of Carlisle, died suddenly at home on February 9, 2021, after a long battle with Bipolar disorder.
He was born in Concord on November 25, 1962. Russell grew up in Carlisle and attended the town's public school system. He furthered his studies at Wentworth Institute in Boston, before earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. A skilled engineer and patented clockmaker, Russell had a particular speciality in restoring analog and antique clocks. He was also an avid automobile enthusiast, who enjoyed redesigning and rebuilding antique cars in his spare time.
Russell will be forever missed by his loving parents, David and Betty Lang of Carlisle, a brother, Christopher Lang and his wife Marta of Swampscott along with their son, Joseph, a sister, Janet Lang Monahan and her husband Charles of Elkins Park, PA, and their daughters, Elle and Olivia. He is also survived by his aunt, Constance Cox and her husband Clifton of SC, and many extended family members in Maine and Arkansas.
A private celebration of life will be held in the summer. Russell's ashes will be scattered near Moosehead Lake in Maine, a place that held special meaning for him throughout his life.
