Obituary

Rosemary Victoria (Meagher) Orpik, 84, of Concord died Monday May 9, 2011 at Concord Park Assisted Living. She was the beloved wife of 63 years of Stanley J. Orpik. Born in Boston on May 25, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Clarence Richard Meagher and Mary (Falwell) Meagher. She attended Concord schools and was a 1945 graduate of Concord High School, Class of 1945. Mrs. Orpik was employed as a switchboard operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. from 1945 until 1955. She later worked at Kussin's Concord Children's Shop for five years and from 1960 until 1974 as a switchboard operator for GenRad in West Concord. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid reader and volunteered at the Town of Concord Voting Polls. She also was employed doing census work for the Town of Concord. In addition to her husband Stanley, survivors include her son Richard C. Orpik and his wife Elizabeth Anne Orpik of Amherst, New York; her grandsons, R. Brooks Orpik of Cohasset and Andrew J. Orpik of Amherst, NY, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Monday May 16th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be on Sunday May 15th from 4 to 8 pm. Service: Funeral Monday, May 16th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish at St. Bernard\'s Church, Monument Square, Concord Center.
