Rose K. (Brothen) Chisholm, age 87, of Concord, formerly of Carlisle, died Tuesday, August 18th at the Kaplan Hospice Residence in Danvers. She was the beloved wife for 68 years of John C. "Jack" Chisholm. They were married at St. Bernard's Church in Concord in 1947. Born in Concord on December 30, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Arne and Esther (Ryan) Brothen. She grew up in Carlisle and graduated from Concord High School in 1945 and attended the Boston School of Dental Nursing in 1946. A Concord resident since 1947, Mrs. Chisholm enjoyed knitting, bird watching, baking, and flower gardening. She was devoted to her family, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jack, survivors include her children, Kathryn Chisholm of Antrim, NH, Deborah Whitney and her husband Michael of Littleton, Sharon Melendy and her husband Thomas of Goffstown, NH, Maureen Gazaille and her husband Dennis of Edgartown, Rosemarie Harrison and her husband Stephen of Rowley, Anne Enman and her husband Wesley of Antrim, NH, and Colin Mark Chisholm of Concord, as well as twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late James Brothen. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 11 am in St. Irene Roman Catholic Church, 181 East Street, Carlisle. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923, or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
