Obituary

Robert F. (Bob) Walter died at Apple Valley Center in Ayer, MA on July 22, 2010. He is formerly of Orlando and West Palm Beach, Florida. Son of the late Clarence D. Walter and Maude May (Tucker) Walter of Orlando. He was born June 24, 1918 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He was the beloved husband of Zoe (Crawford) Walter for 68 years and the father of Zoe Ann Liepins and her husband Janis of Hudson,MA; Carol Lee Redding and her husband Carl of Lantana, Florida; and Diane Thomas and her husband Paul of Lake Worth, Florida. He leaves his Grandchildren Margo Pawlak (Pat) of Westford,MA, Linda Buchieri (Phill) of Lancaster, MA, Eric Redding (Amy) of Stuart FL, John Liepins (Molly)of Castle Rock,CO, James Redding( Mia) of Titusville, FL and the late Amanda Thomas of Lake Worth, FL. His Great Grandchildren Kevin and Katherine Pawlak, Julia and Sarah Buchieri, Samantha Redding, and Izaac Redding soon to be born. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and his WW II tent mate and friend Charles Dee of Concord, MA. He was preceded in death by his sisters Carol and Phyllis and his brother Jack. Bob moved to Florida in 1925 and graduated from Orlando Senior High in 1936. Sergeant Walter served 39 months in the Army Air Corps with 18 months in the Eight Air Force in England. He was in the 801st 492nd Bomb Group. He worked for 9 years as Classified Advertising manager of the Orlando Sentinel Star and 28 years as a Sales Representative of Drug Package, Inc of OFallon, MO. His territory was South Florida. He moved to West Palm Beach in 1958 and retired in 1983. He was an active member of The First United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches, the Eighth Air Force Historical Society, 801st 492nd Bomb Group (Carpetbaggers), The American Legion, a Master Mason of Eola Lodge #207. He volunteered for 7 years at the Palm Beach Health Department and the Lords Place Soup Kitchen. Bob was also Past President of the Traveling Mens Auxiliary of the Florida Pharmaceutical Association, Past President of the Central Florida Advertising Club, Honorary Lifetime Member of Alpha Delta Sigma Fraternity. The family request no flowers but donations can be made to Apple Valley Activity Fund, 400 Groton Road, Ayer MA 01432 or to the Charity of ones choice. Cemetery: Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, Florida at a later date. Visitation: There will be no calling hours. Service: A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Roadin Hudson MA on August 8th at 3 PM
