Robert (Rob) Scott, age 45, passed away December 8, 2021 in Concord, MA, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Rob was born in February 1976 in Cleveland, OH, to Rebecca Scott and late Robert Scott and was also raised by his step-mother, Diane Scott. He attended Cleveland and Olmsted Falls public schools and earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Grove City College, where he was also a member of the Beta Sigma fraternity and known fondly as "Big Dog".
Rob was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. If you were lucky enough to get to know Rob, he opened up his heart to you and treated you like family. He had a profound impact on childhood friends who saw him as a friend, mentor, and protector. Rob was the best uncle anyone could hope for, and his nieces and nephews couldn't get enough of his hugs. For his Campbell In-laws, Rob erased those very words, "in-law", by being a true brother and third son in the Campbell family.
Rob was actively involved in the business community of Concord, MA where he and his wife Kimmie founded, own, and operated Haute Coffee. Their business became an institution in the community, providing jobs for employees and great experiences and memories for customers.
Rob was an avid fan of all Cleveland sports teams, especially the Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes football team. He enjoyed Lake Milton and Key West, or anywhere there was good music, good drinks, and great laughs with friends.
In 2003, Rob met the love of his life, Kimmie. He gave her everything she could wish for in a loving husband. Selfless and giving as always, she was there in the end by his side, championing him and protecting him as he faced the toughest challenge of his life.
Rob has a special place in our hearts. He was an amazing example to us of how to love your spouse, rise above adversity, and choose happiness and spread it far and wide. We will never forget his warm heart and his zest for life. His smile was like the sun. We will cherish the memories we had with him forever. He will remind us every day to smile in the face of challenges, to love with all our might, and to live life to the fullest like he truly did.
He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Kimberly Scott; his sister, Angelique Hinkle; his brother Danny Scott; his grandmother, Theresa Scott, his 11 nieces and nephews and longtime friends. His aunt Kathy and uncle Moe, aunt Jennifer Pelcic and uncle Tony Pelcic; his uncle Dale Horner and aunt Tracey Horner; uncle Patrick Horner and his aunt Victoria Horner, his uncle Tim Horner, and his uncle Bruce Scott and aunt Michelle Scott and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Billie Jo Horner, his grandfather, Dale Horner, his grandmother, Judith Jaeger and grandfather, Bob Scott.
In light of current circumstances, Rob's family is planning a service in Concord in the spring and a service in Cleveland in the summer. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rob's memory may be made to Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (www.prhc.us) or The Jimmy Fund for pediatric cancer research and patient care (www.jimmyfund.org/gift).
Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
