Robert Lewis Bushkoff of Concord, MA passed away peacefully at age 75 on Monday February 13, 2023 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA after a long struggle with health issues related to polycystic disease.

Rob was born in Philadelphia, PA to Herbert and Doris (Slotin) Bushkoff. His father was a chemical engineer and his mother was a graphic artist who also enjoyed performing in community musical theatre. Rob was naturally inquisitive and was drawn to science, electronics, model trains, and musical pursuits early on. He completed High School in Littleton, CO and was a delegate to the National Youth Science Camp from Colorado in 1965. In 1969 he graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a BSEE degree in computer studies.

In his professional life Rob consulted to NASA Electronics Research Center during the Apollo Program, co-founded two successful start-up companies, Xylogic Systems, Inc. and Xyvision, Inc., pioneers in large-scale electronic publishing and document management systems of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Later as an independent consultant he developed medical publishing and information systems for McKesson Corp. and other clients.

Playing rock/blues music with his friends was Rob's greatest joy, and he outfitted the living room with a complete band setup and recording studio to fuel his passion. He wrote songs, played at open mics, jams and with local bands, but was best known for hosting epic music jam and dance parties for a community of avid music-lovers for nearly 30 years.

Rob is survived by his wife Alice Wellington; his cousin Alex Bushkoff, wife Wendy Crooks-Bushkoff, daughter Sheila Bushkoff; and many friends. We are especially grateful to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center for the wonderful care he received for many years.

A Burial Service will occur at a later date in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, MA. Donations in Rob's name may be made to National Youth Science Foundation, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, and a children's musical education school or program of your choosing.
