Richard "Dick" Rearwin died on January 29, 2023 at the age of 92, four days after his 65th wedding anniversary shared with his devoted wife, Joeyna. Born in Upper Darby, PA on June 17, 1930, he was the son of Harry Rearwin and Marguerite (Yerger) Rearwin. He grew up in Cranford, NJ, where he graduated from high school. He was on the golf team and enjoyed playing football. On Sundays he played piano at the Plainfield Hotel. Dick went to RPI on a GE Co-op program. He continued playing piano, but then with a small combo of classmates, playing at weddings and celebrations. He graduated with a BEE, was a member of the Delta Phi fraternity, and an honorary member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. He earned an MEE at MIT.
His career began at General Precision Laboratories in Pleasantville, NY which brought him to attend the Church in the Highlands, where he met his wife to be, Jo, in the church choir. They married two years later in that church in 1958. That same year, Dick joined Technical Research Group, settling in Huntington (Melville), Long Island, where their children were born. Eventually, Dick joined Microwave Associates, bringing the family to Concord, MA, where he would live for 51 years, enjoying the company of friends and neighbors. Dick finished his career as Vice President at CNR in Needham.
Dick was a member of the Tri-Con Church, where he was a Deacon and served on the Property Committee as well as other tasks. Most recently, Dick was a member of the West Concord Union Church. Dick enjoyed playing tennis and occasionally playing golf.
The joy of his life was his family: son, Matthew of Sutton, grandsons Erik and Kyle, son, David of California, daughter, Elizabeth Chambers and husband, Jeff of Littleton, brother-in-law, Norman Raynal of Florida, nephew Scott Raynal and wife Deb of Kansas, and the late mothers, Nan and Mimi. The family shared trips out west, visiting National Parks, and enjoyed vacations to England, Italy and Germany.
