Obituary

Richard O. Pinkham, 89, of Concord, formerly of Weston, died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton. He was the husband for 61 years of Gloria (Tidman) Pinkham. Born in Boston on June 26, 1923 he was the son of the late Max O. and Frances W. (Jones) Pinkham. He graduated from Weston High School in 1941 and received a Bachelor degree in Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston in 1953. During World War II, he served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force. For many years, prior to his retirement in 1989, Mr. Pinkham was a Mechanical Engineer at Microwave Associates in Burlington. Previously, he worked at Sylvania and Raytheon in Waltham. He was a Concord resident since 1955. An avid skier, he served as Past President of the Prospectors Ski Club of Waltham and their Ski Lodge on Hurricane Mountain Road in Kearsage, New Hampshire. In addition to his wife, Gloria, he is survived by a son, R. Mark Pinkham and his wife Nancy of Derry, New Hampshire, one granddaughter, Kaeley Pinkham Chesney and her husband Andrew, and one grandson, Connor Pinkham, all of Derry, New Hampshire. He was also the brother of the late Franklin S. Pinkham of Michigan, formerly of Weston. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Friday in recognition of Mr. Pinkham's service to his country during World War II. Cemetery: Private interment will be held at a later date. Service: A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 14th at 11 AM in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden Street, Concord Center.
