Obituary

Richard J. Mulcahy, Jr., fondly known as Rich/Richie, formerly of Concord, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 in Tewksbury, following a long battle with Huntington's Disease. He was 56. Born on March 21, 1966, he was the beloved son of Yvonne Mulcahy Fuller of Concord, and the late Richard Mulcahy. After graduating from Concord-Carlisle High School with the class of 1985, Rich also obtained an Electronics Technician Certification from Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1987. In 1993, he completed the Powerline Program at Northwest Iowa Technical College, and then began his career are a Lineman. Not only did he possess an incredible work ethic, but Rich was also remarkably skilled and talented. He taught himself to play the guitar, which lead him to start his collection. Rich built and repaired guitars, wrote sheet music, and even sang. Richard's love for music was all encompassing, before he was sick, he attended over 60 concerts and kept every ticket. Stevie Ray Vaughn of Double Trouble was his favorite. Passing along this love of music to his son, Drake, Rich also took him to the School of Rock in Watertown. Drake meant the world to him. Rich also collected matchbox and model cars, trucks, countless CDs, and movies. Anyone who truly knew him, knew a man of kindness, quick humor, and a dedicated heart. Rich deeply loved his family and friends and would always keep anyone around him smiling and laughing. In addition to his mother, he leaves behind one son, Drake Mulcahy, his sister, Beth Prohodski and her husband Alex, two nieces, Jessica and Olivia Seaburg, and a brother-in-law, Scott Seaburg. He was predeceased by his son, Kyle Mulcahy, three sisters, Paula Seaburg, Cheryl Mulcahy and Cynthia Mulcahy, and his step-father, Ralph Fuller. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, July 28th from 5 to 8 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. His funeral will take place on Friday, July 29th at 9 am from Dee Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America , 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
