At the break of dawn on November 8th, 2012 Richard (Dick) Montague passed away in the loving comfort of his home in West Concord cradled in the love of his family. Born on January 2nd, 1938 in Concord, he was the son of the late Egbert and Dorothy (Richardson) Montague. Dick is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Jane (Kennedy) Montague, his precious children Dana Montague of West Concord, friend Paula and daughter Susan Patterson, her husband Jeffrey of Littleton and the joy of his life, his grandchildren Stephen Patterson (US Army PFC) Fort Polk, LA and Nicole Patterson, Littleton. His passing leaves a great void in the lives of his extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald. Dick graduated in 1956 from Concord High School, attended Wentworth Institute and was the retired owner/operator of Montague's Mobil in West Concord. He had a keen interest in genealogy, antique cars, gardening and was a member of The National Guard Company D, The Mayflower Society of Boston and he was very proud to be a descendant of the pilgrims. Above all, his passion and dedication was for his family. Dick and Jane enjoyed long summers days at their summer home in Nova Scotia, Canada with family and friends where all were welcome. A quiet man by nature with high integrity; he was a true gentleman and just a good person to know. He was so very loved by all. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 15th, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., Concord, MA. Funeral Service Friday, November 16th at 11:00 am at the West Concord Union Church with a reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
