Richard Fereshetian, 92 of Carlisle, formerly of Concord, MA passed away on Sept. 29, at Emerson Hospital Hospice, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Helen Craig Fereshetian
He is survived by his wife Helen , and 4 daughters, Wendy Fereshetian of Nantucket , MA; Pam and David Ziehler of Carlisle, MA; Sandy and Tom Weston of Madison, ME; Claire and Brian Hart of Billerica, MA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Richard was a proud WWII veteran having served his country in the US Navy. He studied the trumpet at the Washington, DC School of Music and played in the Navy band and was a professional trumpet player. He trained at the CeeBee base in Gulfport, MS. and served in Panama .
Upon his service discharge, he and brothers, Charlie & Albert opened Charlie's Donuts in Arlington Heights, which later became named The Dough-C-Dough-nut Shoppes of Arlington and Woburn. He continued to do what he loved; making delicious doughnuts, being a great family man, and playing the trumpet. He had a great love for animals. As a President of the Retail Baker's of America, he enjoyed writing articles for their Newsletter. He was appointed Doughnut Director, giving seminars at the national conventions.
Graveside Services with military honors will be held at Green Cemetery, Carlisle MA on Thursday October 2, 2014 at 12:00 noon.
