Rajamma Gopalakrishnan Nair, of Acton, Massachusetts breathed her last at Mass General Hospital (MGH), Boston on April 15th 2011 - Vishu day. Rajamma, Amma to all of us was born in the historic district of Kottayam at Madathil House, Muttom, Nattakom in the state of Kerala, India on September, 26 1933 (Malayalam Era date of 10th Kanni, 1109, star Thrikketta). She studied for her BA at St. Teresa's College in Ernakulam, Cochin, India. Amma was the beloved wife of the late Gopalakrishnan Nair, with whom she had a married life of over 4 decades. As a homemaker, she enjoyed a major portion of her life with her husband and three son's at Bombay (Mumbai), India. As a widow, she lived on her own at her home town of Kottayam, India. Amma has left for her heavenly abode. She is survived by her three sons, Jay, Ramesh, Santosh, one grandson and four granddaughters. She has one surviving younger sister and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service was completed on Tuesday, April 19th 2011 at Dee Funeral Home, Concord, MA. Cremation was at 10:30am at Linwood Cemetery - Crematory, Haverhill, MA. Her ashes were dispersed over water.
