Obituary

Priscilla March Burton, 93, of Billerica, died Tuesday, November 13th after a stay of several years at the Billerica Crossings assisted living in Billerica. She grew up in both Needham and Brookline with her older brother, Harold Bernard. She was a graduate of Brookline High School in 1943 and in 1946 received an associates degree as a Med Tech from Colby-Sayer College in New Hampshire. Later, she received a masters degree in Education from Boston University. After working as a medical laboratory technician in a Boston hospital for many years, in 1956, she married William Burton and later moved to the town of Lincoln building a house overlooking Farrar Pond where she and William raised, William, Jr., Bonnie and Wendy. After she and William became divorced in the early 70's, she moved to Florida for several years and from there to Concord, Massachusetts. Later, she moved to New Hampshire residing first in Concord, then Warner and lastly Claremont. Five years ago, she was moved to Billerica Crossings assisted living in Massachusetts where she resided until her death. While attending Boston University for her Masters in Education, she and William went on a trip around the world. Priscilla enjoyed art in various forms, in particular, painting still-lifes and portraits. She also spent time learning Chinese watercolor painting and made two trips to China. Other interests include spending a significant amount of effort researching her family genealogy. She encouraged her children William, Jr., Bonnie and Wendy in education, music and sports activities, especially figure skating. She will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring person with an infectious laugh. Survivors include her son, William deK. Burton, Jr. and his wife Karen of Woburn, her son-in-law, Ronald Searing of Glen Mills, PA, and six grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Bonnie Searing and Wendy Burton, and sister of the late Harold Bernard March. Relatives and friends will gather for her funeral service on Sunday, November 18th at 11:30 am in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
