Phyllis P. Walker, 97, of Concord, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Bear Hill Nursing Home in Stoneham Mass.

She was predeceased in 2016 by her husband of 62 years, Ellis E. Walker Jr.  Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Timothy Walker (Nancy) of Boxford and Donald Walker (Vicki Halal) of Medford, her grandchildren, Henry and Peter Walker of Boxford, Leila Walker of Belmont, and Michael Walker (Vix Small) of Somerville, her nephew Jeff (Maria) Richardson and her niece Lori (Russell) Leavitt and their families. She was predeceased by her sister Dianne and her husband Rodney Richardson of Feeding Hills Mass.

Born in Laconia NH on January 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Dorothy (Moxley) Pitman. She attended Laconia public schools, graduated from Laconia High School in 1947, and went on to obtain a Medical Secretary degree from Westbrook Junior College in 1949.

Phyllis spent a year working for her father at the Laconia Milling Corp in Laconia NH, before moving to Boston. While in Boston, she worked for three years as a secretary at Harvard Medical School.

After marrying in 1954, she and Ellis moved to Concord in 1957. She was a member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church, and volunteered at the TriCon Gift Shop, run by the parish.

For many decades, she enjoyed spending time at the cottage her father built for her in Gilford, NH along the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and baking goodies for her boys.  Like her mother, she had a green thumb and liked to tend to her flowers and plants.

Phyllis will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA.  A private burial service will be held the following day at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Concord Land Conservation Trust , PO Box 141, Concord MA 01742.
