Phyllis T. (Beatrice) Sperandio, 96, of Concord, formerly of Acton and Framingham died Saturday February 13th at her Concord home. She was the beloved wife of the late Nazareth J. Sperandio.
Born in Framingham on April 3, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Giovanina (Frongillo) Beatrice. She attended Framingham schools and was a 1937 graduate of Framingham High School.
She later graduated from Framingham Business School and was employed for over forty years as a Medical Secretary for several physicians in the Concord area. She and Nazareth lived at the Concord Country Club for forty years and raised their family as he served as the superintendent of the golf course.
Mrs. Sperandio was an honorary member of the Concord Country Club and served as a volunteer at Emerson Hospital for many years. She was an accomplished golfer and was quite skilled at knitting. She stayed true to her Italian heritage especially as she cooked Italian meals for her family. Phyllis was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was fondly known as "Mimi" to many.
Survivors include her daughter Karen L. McCarte and her husband Richard "Dick" of Acton, her son James A. Sperandio and his wife Linda of Littleton, her grandchildren, Kerry Anne Stone and her husband Kevin of Concord, Michelle MacLeod and her husband Brad of Holliston, Robyn Sperandio of Acton and Colin Sperandio of Florida, her great grandchildren Emily, Jackson and Timothy Stone, Brendan, Sean and Owen MacLeod, and her sister Beatrice E. Sperandio of Laconia, NH. She was also the sister of the late Gabriel and Anthony Beatrice, Andenessa Richards, Gilda A. Valle and Olympia DiFolco.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be held on Tuesday Feb. 16th from 5 to 7 pm.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday Feb. 17th at 10 am at the Dee Funeral Home followed by entombment in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
