Phyllis M. (Lorman) Doherty, formerly of Lincoln,died in Greenville, Rhode Island on August 14th. She was the beloved wife of 60 years of William R. Doherty.
Born in Lowell on May 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Beatrice E. (Neil) Lorman. She attended Lowell public schools, graduated from Lowell High School in 1945 and in 1946 graduated from Massachusetts School of Physical Therapy and Radiology in Boston.
From 1965 until her retirement in 1994, Mrs. Doherty participated in the operation of the family owned Doherty's Garage in Lincoln. Previously, she worked as an X-Ray Technician in Waltham Hospital.
A Lincoln resident since 1950, she was a member of the Lincoln Grange and Mass Chapter of the American Ex-POW's.
In addition to her husband, William, she was the devoted mother of 3 daughters; Andrea L. Dwyer and her husband Tom of Newport, RI, Cynthia J. Murphy and her husband Dennis of Concord and Sherry J. Hagenian of Lincoln. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of 7 grandchildren; Christine (Dwyer) August, Kimberly Dwyer, Robert and Katelyn Murphy, Nicholas, Stephen and William Hagenian. She was the loving sister of Frances Tiffany of Sun City, AZ andCarolyn Lorman of Newport, VT. She was also the sister of the late Charlotte Wilbur of Jacksonville, FL and Joanne Hess of Lowell.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, August 17th from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 18th at 11 a.m. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road, Route 126, Wayland, MA.
