Phillip Charles Smith, 65, of Maynard, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2021.
He was born on November 3, 1955 in Cambridge, MA, the son of Erma L. (Stone) Smith of Maynard and the late William H. Smith, Jr.
Phillip was raised in Concord where he attended the local schools and graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School, class of 1974. Following high school, he attended UMass Lowell, Boston University, M.I.T. - Lowell Institute, and Middlesex Community College specializing in Electronics.
Phillip began his career working for Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard before serving the Town of Concord as a Dispatcher from 1980 until 1993. He then went to work for Fluke Corp. in Wilmington from where he retired as Technical Services Manager in 2012.
In his spare time, Phillip enjoyed operating his ham radio under the call sign 'N1OMU'. He enjoyed traveling, especially to London, and will also be remembered for his love of all things Disney.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three siblings, William E. Smith and wife Erika of St. Charles, MO, Louise Smith of Clearwater, FL, and Janice Smith of Concord, and one niece, Hannah Cooper of Shirley.
Relatives and friends will gather for visiting hours on Thursday, October 21st from 12 to 2 pm, concluding with a time of remembrance at 2 pm in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
