Obituary

Philip J. Gulesian, Jr. died peacefully in his home in Concord, MA on February 5, 2018, due to complications from Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. He was 83. Philip was born on July 25, 1934 in Boston, MA to his parents, Philip J. Gulesian, Sr. and Gladys Garabedian. Phil grew up in Hyde Park, MA where he had many fond memories. He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1953 and attended Harvard College, graduating in 1959 with an A.B. degree with a special concentration in Engineering and Applied Physics. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1958-1963. Most of his career was spent as an Engineer working for the American Center for Analog Computing, Boston, MA; Adage, Inc, Cambridge, MA; Air Force Cambridge Research Lab, Bedford, MA; Mitre Corporation, Bedford, MA; and at Yale University Data Analysis Lab, New Haven, CT. He also worked as a Visiting Fellow at Osaka University, Osaka, Japan. Philip is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marcia W. Gulesian, along with his sister, Martha Demerjian and brother-in-law Armen Demerjian, his nephew, Charlie Demerjian, and his niece, Lucy Demerjian Flynn. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Susan Redd Gulesian. Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
