Philip S. Gallagher, formerly of Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, died on Dec. 17th, 2011. Philip was the beloved husband of 66 years of the late Alice D. (Garvey) Gallagher. Son of the late Hanna Joel and Philip S. Gallagher Sr. Father of Sheila Hope Brown and her husband Richard M. of Boston and Mark M. Gallagher and his wife Patrice M. of Boxborough. Grandfather of Gillian Flanagan, Laura Turer, Jennifer and Kara Brown and Mark P. and Kayla Noel Gallagher, Great grandfather of Brenna, Alec, James, Brendan, Brian and Hailey. Brother of the late William H. Gallagher, Anna Allen and Rhoda Mahoney. Philip is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Lt. Philip S. Gallagher III, USA, who died as a result of injuries sustained in Vietnam in 1971. Philip was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin where he was an outstanding athlete. Gave up a scholarship to college during Great Depression to support his family. Served in US Navy during WWII in Guam and Okinawa campaigns. He was the Founder and President of University Rubber Co. in Cambridge. Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home, Susan M. Dee and Charles W. Dee, Funeral Directors.
Cemetery:
Interment with military honors will follow in Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford Street, Lexington, Massachusetts. Concord's town flag will fly at half staff on Wednesday in recogniton of Mr. Gallagher's service to his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Visiting hours Tuesday Dec. 20th from 4 to 7. in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
Service:
Funeral will be held on Wednesday Dec. 21st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., CONCORD CENTER at 11:15 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 12 Noon.
