Philip G. Bruno, of Bedford and formerly of Westwood, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023 at age 85.

Phil, as he preferred to be known, was born on June 20, 1938 in Boston, the oldest of four boys of the late Philip J. Bruno and Marlin E. (Matson) Bruno.

Phil attended Boston Latin School before attending Tufts University and always treasured learning and reading. Phil married his beloved wife, Mary Barbara (Dunbar) Bruno, on February 5, 1966 in St. John's Church in East Boston. The couple made their home together in Westwood, where they welcomed three daughters, Cara, Mary and Victoria. He was employed as an Actuary at Diversified prior to his retirement.

A loving father and husband, Phil enjoyed family meals together and letting his daughters dance on his feet to the music being played. An avid walker and bird watcher in his younger years, he enjoyed spending time at Arnold Arboretum and was a lifelong contributor to his church and other charities close to his heart. Phil had a special bond with his son-in-law, John, who always succeeded in putting a smile on his face.

Private funeral services are planned in the Farrar Chapel of Dee Funeral Home in Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil's memory may be made to Shriners Children's .
