Peter A. DeFoe II, age 53, of Stow, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 following a brief, hard-fought battle with cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Katie and his adoring children, Kayla and Anthony. He is the cherished oldest son of his mother and stepfather, Julia and Christopher Chase of Lakeland, FL and his father and stepmother, Peter and Mary DeFoe of Fort Thomas, KY. He is the dear brother of John DeFoe and his wife Jennifer of Harwich, Vincent DeFoe of Shirley, Stephen DeFoe and his wife Jill of Acton, Matthew DeFoe of New Port, KY, Katie DeFoe Morenou, of Fort Thomas, KY and Beth DeFoe of Salt Lake City, Utah. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved very much.
Peter was born and raised in Concord and will be remembered for his big personality and his passionate love for his family. Peter built his own business, DeFoe Trucking, that provided services to many in the surrounding communities. His amazing work ethic was appreciated by all who knew him.
Peter had a legendary love of music, that he shared with his mother and brother, John during their weekly music trivia competitions. He has passed on this love and appreciation of music to his daughter. Peter was happiest surf casting on the beach in search of Stripers, and passed his knowledge and love for fishing onto his son. Peter was very proud of his children and loved his family dearly.
Visiting hours are on Sunday, September 18th from 2 to 6 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
Peter's funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19th at 11 am in the First Parish, 20 Lexington Road, Concord Center. Officiating will be the Rev. Howard N. Dana, Senior Minister.
Burial will immediately follow in his family's burial plot at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.
