Obituary

Paul Puschak, age 84, of Acton, died peacefully on January 27, 2022, following a brief illness. Paul was the devoted husband of Elaine (Schoeman) Puschak for 52 years. Paul was born on July 3, 1937 and grew up in Coaldale, Pennsylvania. As the son of the late Wash and Mary Puschak, Paul was the youngest of four boys, and came from a large extended family. He graduated from Coaldale High School in 1956 and went on to pursue a business degree from Syracuse University. Paul moved to Rochester, New York, where he met his wife Elaine while on a ski trip. The newlywed couple settled in Acton in the late 60's where they raised their children, Rebecca and Michael. Paul pursued a long career with Digital Equipment Corporation. Paul was involved with Boy Scouts of America and remained very active throughout his life, playing tennis, running, and working out at the gym. Over the years Paul enjoyed gathering with his family at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire, skiing until the age of 75. He took great pride in caring for the trees and yard around his home. Paul loved frequent trips to Ogunquit, Maine, and was involved in his wife's antique business. Together, Paul and Elaine scoured New England in search of antiques for Paul to restore. Those who knew Paul treasured his friendliness, smile and gentle way of connecting with people. He left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he met. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his son, Michael Puschak, his daughter, Rebecca Horwich and her husband Dr. Perry Horwich, and his grandson, George Horwich. He is loved by many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his older brothers, Nick, Ted and Russell. Family and friends are invited to attend Paul's graveside service on Tuesday, February 1st at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery, 104 Concord Road, Acton, MA.
